Heredia Records Program Record to Lead Men’s Cross Country at NCAA Regional

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Jacob Heredia set a new program record with a time of 30:49.5 in the 10K to lead the George Washington men's cross country team at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday afternoon.

NOTEWORTHY

GW finished with a team score of 339 to finish in 10^th place out of 26 competing schools.
Princeton won the team title, tallying a score of 41 for the top spot.
Villanova's Liam Murphy paced the field with a time of 29:05.5 for the individual crown.
GW was led by Heredia with his record-breaking pace of 30:49.5. Heredia edged out teammate Ryan Fowkes' previous record of 30:49.9 set during the 2022 season.
Behind Heredia was sophomore Austin Brotemarkle, who recorded a time of 31:00.3 in his 10K debut. Brotemarkle's time is the third-fastest in program history, placing him 49^th overall for the race.
Junior Kevin Conlon also etched his name in the record books, recording a PR time of 31:21.0, the sixth-fastest time in GW history. Conlon finished 68^th out of 187 runners.
Senior Lucas Brown finished with a time of 31:44.6 to finish 85^th as an individual, while grad student Ryan Fowkes notched a time of 31:57.8 for 101^st.
Junior Pierce Kapustka rounded out GW's finishers, recording a time of 32:43.7 in his 10K debut.
