Swim and Dive Tops A-10 Preseason Voting

A-10 selects GW men and women as favorites to defend last season’s titles
NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Following a dominant sweep of the men's and women's championships a season ago, George Washington has once again been chosen to control the league as the A-10 conference's preseason favorites for both men's and women's swimming and diving, as voted on by the conference's coaches.
The Buff and Blue were unanimously voted as the conference's top team after both the men and women captured A-10 titles last season in historic fashion.
GW is returning plenty of talent from last season on both teams. The men's side is returning Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honorees Tyler Kawakami, Dylan Koo and Djurdje Matic, among others with conference recognition. The women are returning a myriad of Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team honorees, which includes Barbara Schaal, Marlee Rickert and Grace Olivardia.
The 2022-23 season begins this weekend, as GW travels to face Virginia Tech on Saturday. This year's Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming & Diving Championships will be held February 15-18 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
