Softball Adds Six for 2023

Buff & Blue bring aboard distinguished group of first-years
WASHINGTON – Coming off its second straight Atlantic 10 regular season title, GW softball has added six first-year student-athletes for the 2023 season, Head Coach Chrissy Schoonmaker announced Wednesday.

The incoming class includes Rose Cano (Bellflower, Calif.), Ashley Corpuz (Ladera Ranch, Calif.), Emma Fales (San Jose, Calif.), Lily Hanafin (La Grange, Ill.), Daniella Lew (Potomac, Md.) and Reese Torres (Great Falls, Va.).
 "We are thrilled to welcome this talented group of student-athletes to GW and we anticipate each of them making an immediate impact on our program," said Schoonmaker, who was named A-10 Coach of the Year last spring. "This is a very skilled and balanced class with pitching depth, versatility in the infield and outfield and the ability to hit for both power and average.
"This class has played at the highest levels of competitive softball on the travel circuit, and their experience will pay dividends as we continue to strive for competitive excellence."
