Demko tabs former UConn men's soccer assistant coach
WASHINGTON - GW women's soccer head coach Michelle Demko announced the addition of Bill Reno to the team's staff as an assistant coach.
"I am excited to add Bill to our program. Throughout our conversations it was apparent that he is a developer in every sense of the word. He is an effective communicator and teacher on and off the field," said Demko. "His tremendous knowledge of the game comes from years of commitment and dedication to investing in his own craft. That type of elite work ethic will greatly impact our student-athletes' training and development. We're extremely excited for Bill to make his mark throughout our program."
Reno joins GW having previously served as an assistant with the University of Connecticut men's soccer program. At UConn, Reno worked with the Huskies' goalkeepers, and was involved in the program's talent scouting, game plan development, and day-to-day operations.
A former goalkeeper at Harding University and Texas A&M, Reno has a strong connection to his position. After graduating, Reno spent time working with various schools as a goalkeeping coach. He served as the Goalkeeper Director of Arlington Soccer Academy, and head coach at Texas Spirit Club Soccer. Additionally, Reno worked alongside former Houston Dynamo and US Women's National Team goalkeeper coach Paul Rogers to evaluate top goalkeeper talent for the Dynamo.
