Women's Indoor Track Continues Early Season Success in Boston

New school record in the 1000m set at Scarlett & White Invitational
BOSTON, MA - Originally scheduled to have the weekend off, GW women's indoor track forwent its free Saturday in favor of building off its early season success at the Scarlett & White Invitational, hosted by Boston University. The results mirrored several of the teams' past meets as the Buff & Blue put together a dominant Saturday that included a new school record, along with several personal records.
Starting GW off in Beantown was grad student Kathryn Nohilly, who put on a show in the women's 1000m. Nohilly, who already owned the school record in the event, bested her own personal time by one second, finishing in a time of 2:53.16.
Following up Nohilly's new school record was a trio of personal records in the mile set by Peri Pavicic, Margaret Coogan and Julia Dempsey. Pavicic's time of 4:55.18 shattered her previous best of 5:07.40 by more than 12 seconds, while Coogan finished the event in a time of 4:55.97, and Dempsey crossed the finish line in a time of 4:59.24.
GW will now head home to Foggy Bottom before shipping back up to Boston next weekend for the BU Valentine Invitational.
