Cross Country Competes at Virginia Invitational

Earlysville, Va. - Nine GW women and eight GW men raced at the Virginia Invitational on Friday morning at the Panorama Farms course. Both teams notched a fifth-place finish, with the men contending in a field of nine and the women in a field of 10. The men's team scored 107 points as a team in the 8k, while the women amassed 116 in the 5k.

The Buff & Blue will enjoy three weeks off before returning to action at the annual Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh on October 3. The race details will be announced later.
AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE NUMBERS
- Of the seven runners who scored in the women's 5k, sophomore Hadley Mahoney led the Buff & Blue, finishing the race in 17:46.6, a new personal-best time for the event. Mahoney's finish was good for 14th overall at the meet.
- On the men's side, Austin Brotemarkle led the Revolutionaries, clocking in at 25:02.2 in the 8k. Brotemarkle's time registered at No. 12 overall in the field.
