Cross Country Competes at Virginia Invitational

Earlysville, Va. -Â Nine GW women and eight GW men raced at the Virginia Invitational on Friday morning at the Panorama Farms course. Both teams notched a fifth-place finish, with the men contending in a field of nine and the women in a field of 10. The men's team scored 107 points as a team in the 8k, while the women amassed 116 in the 5k.Â

The Buff & Blue will enjoy three weeks off before returning to action at the annual Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh on October 3. The race details will be announced later.Â

- Of the seven runners who scored in the women's 5k, sophomore Hadley Mahoney led the Buff & Blue, finishing the race in 17:46.6, a new personal-best time for the event. Mahoney's finish was good for 14th overall at the meet.Â
- On the men's side, Austin Brotemarkle led the Revolutionaries, clocking in at 25:02.2 in the 8k. Brotemarkle's time registered at No. 12 overall in the field.Â
