Gymnastics Projected to Finish Fifth in EAGL Preseason Poll

GW to open season on January 15 at the Smith Center
WEIRTON, W.Va. – In anticipation of the 2023 season, GW gymnastics was picked fifth in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) preseason poll, it was announced on Tuesday.
The preseason poll is based on ranking projections given by the head coaches of the eight EAGL schools.
GW amassed 42 points, including two first-place votes, but North Carolina topped the poll with 48 points, followed by a second-place tie between NC State and Temple.
The Buff & Blue return 12 letterwinners from the 2022 EAGL Championship team, including reigning EAGL Gymnast of the Year, Deja Chambliss, and three All-EAGL honorees in Kendall Whitman, Rachel Katz and Sarah Zois. In addition, Head Coach Margie Foster-Cunningham announced the addition of six newcomers this offseason, including five first-years and sophomore Nancy Kiner, who spent one season at Pittsburgh.
GW will begin its 2023 campaign at home with its annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational on January 15 at 1 p.m., welcoming Cornell, Nebraska and William & Mary to the Smith Center.
