Pateros, Castorina & Schroeder named to All-Conference teams ahead of MAWPC Championship Second Round
PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Theodoros Pateros, Luca Castorina and Nick Schroeder have each earned All-MAWPC honors, the league announced on Friday. Pateros has been named to the First Team, while Castorina and Schroeder were named to the Second Team.
Pateros, a graduate transfer from Long Beach State, made waves in his first season in the MAWPC, leading the second-place Colonials to a 14-2 conference record. Pateors paced the GW attack in the regular season with a team highs of 110 goals and 125 points. Pateros garnered GCC All-Tournament Team honors in his first year at Long Beach State, and was named to GCC All-Academic Team in his junior and senior seasons.
Castorina, a junior goalkeeper from Sicily, Italy, locked down GW's net all season as the only Goalkeeper to make an appearance for the Colonials. Castorina made 287 saves in 27 appearances, boasting a 49.6 save percentage on the season. This is Castorina's third All-MAWPC honor, adding to a list that includes the 2021 All-MAWPC East Second Team and the All-MAWPC Championship Team.
Schroeder, a graduate student from Orinda, Calif., had his fingerprints all over GW's attack this season with a team-high 51 assists. Schroeder was also second on the team in points, behind only Pateros. This is Schroeder's first All-MAWPC honor.
