GW attacker recognized by USA Water Polo
IRVINE, CA - Graduate student Theodoros Pateros has been named to the Cutino Award Watch List, as announced by USA Water Polo. The Peter J. Cutino Award, named in honor of the late Hall of Fame coach, recognizes the best player in men's and women's college water polo.
Pateros, who is playing in his first season in the Buff and Blue, has been a spark to the Colonial's offense, scoring at least three goals in 15 of GW's 18 games. The attacker from Greece has a team-high 71 goals and a 58.20 shot percentage, and has played a massive role in GW's 16-2 start. Pateros has drawn 32 ejections this season as the opposition has been forced to pay him much of its attention.
GW is beginning a four-game road trip tonight, which includes three games against ranked competition. Pateros will look to add to his impressive resume this weekend as he leads the GW attack into action.
