Deja Chambliss Takes Home EAGL Gymnast of the Week

Co-captain honored after a shining performance at the Lindsey Ferris Invitational
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – GW gymnastics graduate student Deja Chambliss has been named East Atlantic Gymnastics League Gymnast of the Week after a first-place finish in the all-around in Sunday's Lindsey Ferris Invitational.
Chambliss topped the all-around podium with a 39.225 behind event scores of 9.875 on vault, 9.800 on bars, 9.675 on beam and 9.875 on floor. The Chesterfield, Va., native paced the team in three of four events and placed first overall on vault in the quad meet that featured Penn, Cornell and William & Mary. Chambliss also tied for first on floor alongside teammate Kendall Whitman.
The Buff & Blue will head to North Carolina on Saturday for quad-meet action with Missouri and Brown. March-outs from Carmichael Arena will begin at 4 p.m., with live coverage available here.
