Syftestad Nabs Rookie Performer of the Week Honor

First-year finished third in her first collegiate event
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - First-year Olivia Syftestad of the GW women's cross country team was named the A-10's rookie performer of the week, it was announced on Wednesday.
Syftestad, competing in her first-ever collegiate meet, finished third at the Mount St. Mary's Duals on Friday in a time of 18:56.93. She was part of an incredible team effort as the Buff & Blue swept the top six positions to earn the first perfect score in team history.
The Chicago, Ill., native is the first individual honoree for women's cross country since Suzanne Dannheim was named the performer of the week in 2019.
