Baseball Student-Athletes Shine in Summer Circuits

Four represented Buff & Blue in prestigious Cape Cod League
WASHINGTON - GW baseball saw remarkable success from its student-athletes over the summer with 13 members of the team performing at high levels across the country.
Notably, Eddie Micheletti Jr. and Connor Harris won a championship with the Greenville Flyboys of the Appalachian League, and Logan Leax and Steve DiTomaso also earned a title with the Boone Bigfoots of the Textile League. Additionally, Anthony Frechette, who started the season with Boone, made his way to the Cape Cod League, giving GW four members in the prestigious circuit.

Harrison Cohen - Cotuit Kettleers (Cape Cod League)
Notably, Eddie Micheletti Jr. and Connor Harris won a championship with the Greenville Flyboys of the Appalachian League, and Logan Leax and Steve DiTomaso also earned a title with the Boone Bigfoots of the Textile League. Stats: 11 games (2 starts), 2-2, 2 saves, 5.47 ERA, 24.2 IP, 26 H, 18 R, 15 ER, 7 BB, 27 K
Noteworthy: Cohen led Cotuit with 27 strikeouts on the season while ranking seventh in the league with his 11 appearances.
Steve DiTomaso - Boone Bigfoots (Textile League)
Stats: 4 games, .286, 0 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, 3 BB
Noteworthy: DiTomaso played in just four games in a shortened summer but made it count with four hits and four RBI.
Cade Fergus - Wareham Gatemen (Cape Cod League)
Stats: 22 games, .296, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 3 2B, 3B, 12 R, 11 BB, 1 SB
Noteworthy: Fergus finished third on the team with a .296 average, closing the season strong with back-to-back multi-hit games.Â

Noteworthy: Harris had a remarkable summer, walking just one batter in his league-leading 10 starts for the Appy League Champion Flyboys.

Noteworthy: Leax was the Bigfoots' leader in RBI and also drew 31 walks compared to just 18 strikeouts in 119 plate appearances as part of a league championship winner.
