Women’s Soccer Wraps Up Regular Season on Sunday

WASHINGTON - The GW women's soccer team will close out its regular season on Sunday when it hosts the Davidson Wildcats for a 1 p.m. contest.
MINDA AND MACHI MADNESS
Tori Minda and Tamaki Machi earned weekly awards this week in recognition of their efforts in the team's most recent pair of conference victories. Minda netted two game-winning goals in victories at VCU and George Mason. The Garden City, N.Y. native is second on the team in scoring with five goals behind teammate Natalie Silberman, who has six.
Machi earned Defensive Player of the Week after securing her fifth shutout of the season on Sunday vs. the Patriots. Machi recorded six saves, including three key stops in the final minutes of regulation to help lift GW over its Revolutionary Rival.
REMATCH WITH THE WILDCATS
In these teams' most recent meeting on March 21, GW topped the Wildcats in a 1-0 overtime victory. Since then, Davidson has gone 2-1-1 with wins over George Mason and Richmond. Davidson is 6-3-2 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play. Hailey Braemer and Kendall Bushick pace the squad with three goals apiece.
