Gymnastics Gearing Up for Pair of Meets

GW will travel to Temple on Friday before making its home debut on Sunday for senior day.
WASHINGTON- Before making its long-awaited home debut, the George Washington gymnastics team is set to head to Temple on Friday night for tri-meet action with Towson. First rotation will begin at 7 p.m.
GW will then honor its seven seniors at home in a dual-meet with Towson on Sunday, March 7 at 1 p.m. This will mark GW's only home competition of the season.
LAST TIME OUT
In its first quad-meet of the season, GW finished third with a score of 193.600. GW earned its 193.600 behind team scores of 48.700 on bars, 48.600 on floor, 48.575 on vault and 47.725 on beam.
SETTING THE BAR
In its last meet, GW earned a season-high 48.700 on bars behind solid performances from Deja Chambliss (9.800), Anneliese Silverman (9.750) and Hannah Munnelly (9.750).
FEARLESS ON FLOOR
GW has been consistent on floor, posting scores above the 48.000 mark in both of its competitions. First-year Kendall Whitman debuted with a 9.950 and earned herself an EAGL weekly honor. Olivia Zona led the Buff and Blue at NC State, posting a season-high 9.800 on floor.
TAKING A LOOK AT TEMPLE
Freshman Brooke Donabedian earned her second EAGL Rookie of the Week honor in week six after tying her career-best 9.825 on beam and setting a career-high 9.875 on floor. Faith Leary is ranked No. 2 overall in the EAGL conference for her 9.875 NQS on floor. Temple's season-high overall team score is 195.100.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Towson sophomore Jenna Weitz and freshman Allison Zuhlke recently earned EAGL Specialist of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Towson has topped the podium in its last two meets, posting scores above the 195.000 mark. The Tigers are ranked No. 2 in the EAGL conference and have a 10-7 conference record. Towson has a trio of Tigers ranked No. 2 overall in the conference: Emerson Hurst, bars, Camille Vitoff, vault and Lauren Bolen, all-around.
ROAD AHEAD
Following its pair of meets, GW is scheduled to travel to Towson on March 12 for its second tri-meet with Temple. March-outs begin at 6 p.m. In the same weekend, GW will cap off its regular season at Towson with New Hampshire and Temple. The March 14 meet is scheduled for 4 p.m.
