Women’s Soccer Set for Pair of Games

GW to face Delaware State on Thursday, Richmond on Sunday
WASHINGTON- The George Washington women's soccer team will host Delaware State in its first home game of the season on Thursday at 3 p.m. before it travels to Richmond on Sunday to kickoff A-10 play. Sunday's game is slated for 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
GW made the short trip to Georgetown last Sunday, falling to the Hoyas, 4-0. Maria Pareja (3) and Kelly Amador (2) combined to record all five of GW's shots on the day. First-years Lauren Prentice and Elizabeth Cruz saw 14 minutes of action apiece in their GW debuts.
HERE COME THE HORNETS
Delaware State opened up its season on Feb. 14 and currently sits at 0-3 overall. The Hornets' pair of goals across the three games have come from first-year Mackenzie Burns and sophomore Geligne Franklin.
SCOUTING THE SPIDERS
Sunday will mark the start of the spring season for Richmond. In 2019, the Spiders finished 7-9-2 overall and 4-6 in A-10 play. UR returns four of its top scorers in Katie Tritt, TJ Anderson, Molly Morgan and Alyssa Walker. The Spiders are scheduled to play eight games this spring, all against A-10 opponents.

Inducted into the GW Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014, Kim Warner was one of the most prolific women's soccer student-athletes in program history, capping her collegiate career third all-time in points (91) and goals (41). A native of North York, Ontario, Warner was a four-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection and was named the 2002 Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year following her junior season. In the same year, Warner helped GW to the conference semifinals and later earned a spot on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region Team.
