Gymnastics Heads to Pittsburgh for EAGL Championship

GW will compete in session one at 1 p.m.
WASHINGTONÂ -Â The George Washington gymnastics team will head to Pittsburgh's Fitzgerald Fieldhouse to compete in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championship on Saturday at 1 p.m.
GW will compete against conference foes NC State and North Carolina as they look to clinch the program's third-ever EAGL title.Â
ALL-EAGL
Hannah Cohen and Kendall Whitman earned GW's pair of All-EAGL Second Team honors. Cohen qualified with her 9.825 on beam and Whitman earned her recognition on vault with a 9.825.
GW was one of two EAGL teams to land its entire roster on the All-EAGL Scholastic Team.Â
SEASON-HIGH FINISHÂ

SEASON-HIGH FINISHÂ
GW capped off its regular season with two first-place finishes, hitting season-highs on all four events and a 195.700 season-high team score.
GW finished first against EAGL opponents Temple and Towson on March 5. The Buff and Blue led after each rotation before coming down to the final performance to secure the victory.Â
Junior Deja Chambliss posted a career-high 9.850 on bars and tied her career-high 9.900 on vault. Cydney Crasa posted a pair of season-highs earning a 9.875 on floor and a 9.750 on vault. Kendall Whitman tied her career-high 9.800 on beam.
On Senior Day, GW topped Towson in dual-meet action, competing at home for the first and only time this season. GW earned a new season-high 49.00 on beam behind Cohen's season-high 9.875 performance. Cohen led GW on beam for the fourth-consecutive meet.Â
Rachel Kaplan recorded a career-high 9.850 on bars while Whitman and Katherine Shek registered career-highs on beam earning a 9.825 and a 9.775, respectively. Cydney Crasa placed first overall on floor for the second-consecutive meet after her 9.825 performance.
Following GW's pair of meets, Whitman was named EAGL Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.
