Women place fourth overall, men make team debut

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. - GW cross country took another strong step forward two weeks ahead of the A-10 championship, getting one final look at the course at Pole Green Park.

NOTES

• GW's women finished fourth overall, topping four regionally ranked teams in the process.

• Six different Colonial women set PRs, led by senior Margaret Coogan, who finished ninth overall, shaving nearly 45 seconds off her previous best at the distance.

• Sophomore Ryan Fowkes was the men's top finisher in 30th, establishing a new PR as well.

• The men placed ninth as a team but had three members (Fowkes, Pat Castellano and Lucas Brown) set PRs. Pierce Kapustka and Kevin Conlon made their Buff & Blue debut as well.
