Golf Adds Rodrigo Barahona to 2022 Lineup

Barahona signs NLI to join program next fall
WASHINGTON – GW golf head coach Chuck Scheinost has announced the addition of Rodrigo Barahona to the lineup starting in the fall of 2022.
"We are very excited for Rodrigo to join the team," said Scheinost. "He is a tremendous player who has the ability to drive the ball deep. He will be a great addition to an already talented 2022 class."

Since 2018, Barahona has tallied nine top-15 finishes at junior-level tournaments. This year, the Monterrey, Mexico native finished first overall at the Notah Begay Qualifier. In two rounds of play, Barahona shot a 73 and a 71, respectively, to top the 38-golfer field. Barahona clinched his spot at the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship, where he finished second among 52 junior golfers. He fell just one stroke short of first place after shooting a five-under-par 67 in the final round.
Barahona on choosing GW:Â "I can't wait to play for GW. I'm excited to enjoy all of the things that the program has to offer, and I'm ready to help the team compete and win some tournaments."
