O'Neill Joins Baseball Staff as Assistant Coach

Ritchie tabs former Duke director of Baseball Operations
WASHINGTON - GW baseball head coach Gregg Ritchie announced the addition of Chris O'Neill to the team's staff as an assistant coach and assistant recruiting coordinator.
"Chris brings a special combination of tools, experience and skills to our student-athletes. He is a disciplined technician that has strong teaching, communication and creativity skills. He is going to tremendously impact the training and development of our team, and his leadership will be a difference maker in assisting the team and program reach new heights."
O'Neill joins GW having previously served as the director of baseball operations for the Duke Blue Devils. At Duke, O'Neill helped coordinate team activities and assisted in the Blue Devils' recruiting process.
"I'm thrilled at the chance to join Coach Ritchie's staff," O'Neill said. "He has made George Washington feel like home in a short amount of time. I can't wait to get started contributing to the winning mentality and performance of our Buff & Blue athletes, and I'm thrilled to try and push this team to Raise High!"
A graduate of King's College, O'Neill also has previous coaching experience with Bucknell University, Marshall and Maryland Eastern Shore. Prior to that, O'Neill was the manager for the Grand Lake Mariners for two seasons. In his first year, he helped guide the Mariners to the team's most wins since 2009. The following season, O'Neill led the Mariners to a runner-up finish and 27 wins. The finals appearance was the first for the Mariners since 2006.
