Weber named to A-10 All-Academic Team
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Oscar Haynes Brown of GW men's soccer has earned All-Atlantic 10 honors for the third time in his career.
The forward from London, England, was tabbed to the All-Conference Second Team on Thursday after leading the Buff and Blue with nine goals and 19 points this fall. He becomes the program's first three-time honoree since Andy Stadler ('07, '08, '09).
In addition, graduate student Sandro Weber was named to the A-10 All-Academic Team for the second straight season.
Haynes Brown continued a prolific run in Buff and Blue this season, ranking fourth in the conference and tied for 30th nationally in goals. He tallied the game-winner in four of GW's five wins, highlighted by a memorable finale in which he scored four times, including the OT golden goal, in a 4-3 victory at St. Bonaventure on Oct. 30 en route to United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week honors.
Haynes Brown closed the fall seventh on the program's all-time scoring list with 31 career goals and ninth with 68 points. He was previously honored on the All A-10 First Team in 2018 and last spring.
Weber earned repeat All-Academic honors after his third and final season with the Buff and Blue. Owner of a 3.97 cumulative GPA, the midfielder from Ettlingen, Germany, earned his master's degree in Sport Management last May before beginning work on a Quantitative Business Studies graduate certificate this fall.
Weber played in 12 games with eight starts this fall, notching a point with an assist in the season-ending win at St. Bonaventure. He totaled 15 points via six goals and three assists across 39 career games.
This marks the ninth consecutive season that GW has been represented on the All-Academic list.
