WASHINGTON – GW men's soccer was defeated, 1-0, in a closely-fought match vs. Dayton on Senior Day at the GW Soccer Field.
Andrew Armstong scored the lone goal in the match, burying a rebound that leaked into the box after a Revolutionaries save. Dayton outshot GW, 21-14, and had 10 corner kicks to GW's one. Jaden Dubon had the best of the chances for the Revolutionaries with four shots including two on target.
Four graduating members of the Revolutionaries – Alex Nicholson, Babacar Fall, Rashid Seidu-Aroza and Pat Altamirano – were celebrated in a pre-match ceremony, joined by family and teammates to recognize their contributions to GW men's soccer.
The match also marked the end of the Craig Jones era at the GW Soccer Field, as GW has just one match remaining in the regular season, next Saturday (6:00 p.m.) at La Salle. The season finale will be streamed on ESPN+.
