COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Moritz Fath, Peter Nachtwey and Jackie Torrez of GW swimming and diving were honored as CSCAA Scholar All-Americans on Tuesday for their excellence in the pool and the classroom.
The three Colonials were recognized as second-team selections for earning a GPA of 3.50 or better and also recording an NCAA B-cut time or competing at an NCAA regional qualifying diving meet.
Fath was honored as a Scholar All-American for the fourth time to cap a tremendous collegiate career, while Nachtwey landed the accolade for the third straight season. Torrez makes her first appearance on the list after helping the GW women claim their first Atlantic 10 title in program history.
It's the fourth consecutive season multiple Colonials have received academic recognition from the CSCAA.
"As always, we're proud to represent GW at the highest level, both in the classroom and in the pool," GW head coach Brian Thomas said. "Jackie, Moritz and Peter exemplify our vision for the program - competing with the best and achieving both academically and athletically. Many thanks to our support staff, coaches and student-athletes for their continued hard work - Raise High!"
