Cydney Crasa named 2020 Lindsey Ferris Award recipient
WASHINGTON – The George Washington gymnastics team celebrated its 2020 season by holding its annual end-of-season banquet virtually on Sunday evening.
The Colonials reminisced on their successful 2020 season, in which they ranked 36th in the country with their 195.420 NQS, 194.850 average, and 195.900 high score. The Buff and Blue hit their stride before the season came to an unexpected close due to COVID-19, topping the five-team field on Senior Day with a 195.825. The squad not only matched its program-high 49.200 on uneven bars, but also hit its fourth-straight score above the 49.000 threshold on floor exercise.
Senior co-captain Cydney Crasa took home the top honor of the evening, the Lindsey Ferris Award. The recognition is annually presented to the gymnast who best exemplifies the team spirit and leadership qualities of the late gymnastics alumna. Crasa will be formally recognized at next season's Lindsey Ferris Invitational.
Crasa was also honored as the Entertainer of the Year, the top performer on floor with her 9.850 NQS, and received the starter award on vault.
