Junior diver posted personal-best score at regional qualifying meet
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - George Washington's Peter Nachtwey kicked off the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships on Monday by placing 31st on the 3-meter board in a competitive field.
The junior's six-dive score of 257.50 was his best 3-meter mark in three career trips to the regional qualifying meet. It was his first competition since claiming the 3-meter title at the Atlantic 10 Championships last month en route to being named Most Outstanding Diver for the second straight season.
Nachtwey will have another chance to face off against some of the nation's best divers on the 1-meter board on Tuesday before he wraps the meet Wednesday with platform diving.
