
Men's Basketball Closes Out Regular Season at #3 Dayton on Saturday

TIPPING OFF: The regular season concludes on Saturday with a trip to #3 Dayton. Tip-time between the Colonials and Flyers is set for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and can be heard on the TuneIn radio app.
A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP SCENARIO: Heading into next week's Atlantic 10 Championship, the Colonials have yet to solidify their seeding with one game remaining. The seeding scenarios for GW entering Saturday are:
GW will be the No. 10 seed with a La Salle loss at Saint Joseph's and will play on Thursday at 6 p.m.
GW will be the No. 11 seed with a La Salle win AND a Colonials' loss at Dayton and will play on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: Redshirt senior Armel Potter finished with 16 points and five assists in his final game at the Smith Center. Junior Maceo Jack and first-year Jamison Battle each finished with 10 points apiece and knocked down four of GW's five 3-pointers. The Colonials held a 48-43 lead in the second half, but Fordham finished on a 20-5 run to defeat GW, 63-52, on Wednesday.
JACK'S SPOTLIGHT: Maceo Jack has been the top-scoring Colonial over the last five games, averaging 15.6 points per game with 16 of his 24 made field goals from behind the arc. Jack is currently second on the team in scoring (12.0 ppg).
10-10-10: Battle has scored 10 points in each of the last three games and has knocked down a total of 12 field goals with six 3-pointers during the stretch.
POTTER'S FINISH: Potter has scored double digits in five of the last six games and is averaging 14.8 ppg and 7.0 apg since returning to the lineup at George Mason on Feb. 15.
SERIES HISTORY: The all-time season series record is tied 18-18 with Dayton winning three of the last five meetings against GW. The home teams have dominated the series with Dayton holding a 12-4 mark at UD Arena while GW is 13-4 at the Smith Center.
SCOUTING DAYTON: The Flyers won their last 19 straight games and are trying to become just the fifth team in the Atlantic 10 to go undefeated in league play. The last team to go undefeated in the A-10 was the 2005-06 Colonials.
Obi Toppin was named a semifinalist for the Citizen Naismith National Player of the Year Award and a finalist for the Karl Malone Award on Thursday. He leads the Flyers in points (19.8) and rebounds (7.6) and is shooting nearly 63% from the field. Toppin has reached double figures in all but one game this season with 10 double-doubles.
