A Message from GW Women's Basketball Head Coach Jennifer Rizzotti

'March Madness' usually has a different meaning for college basketball than the Madness we're all experiencing this March. I feel for all the basketball players around the country who had their seasons cut short because the postseason really can be the most special time in an athlete's career. I also feel for spring student-athletes and coaches who not only didn't get to complete their seasons, but didn't get to share the experiences that can bond teammates for a lifetime. It's easy to feel like we all got a little bit robbed.
As coaches always say, sport teaches you about life and how to handle adversity in ways nothing else can. In this difficult time, we all understand the difficult decisions that had to be made. I appreciate the leadership Tanya Vogel has shown in this unchartered territory. Our program is proud to stand by our University in the effort to promote social distancing to keep everyone safe. It's never easy to be away from my players, but through all this uncertainty, we will continue to do the work that will help us Raise High in 2020-21. And, of course, we will wash our hands! Stay safe, G-Dub. We'll be back soon.
