Colonials to face James Madison on Sunday
WASHINGTON – The George Washington women's tennis team put up a fight on Saturday afternoon, but fell just short to Navy, 4-3, at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
The Colonials secured the doubles point with the duos of Katarina Marinkovikj and Melis Bayraktaroglu and Jiaqing Mo and Alexandra Vesikallio besting their opponents at No. 1 and 3, respectively.
In singles play, Marinkovikj notched a victory at the top spot, 7-5, 6-3, while Luciana Kunkel won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 4.
The Buff and Blue will now head to Harrisonburg, Va., to face James Madison on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
