12/8/2020 1:00:00 PM | Women's Rowing, My GW: Celebrating our Stories
Welcome back to Beyond the Bio, where we'll get to know more about the people behind the scenes at GW Athletics.
Â
In this edition, we take to the Potomac River to highlight women's rowing assistant coach Katy Ruderman, who is in her second season on staff with the Buff and Blue.
When I'm not working, my favorite thing to do is?
Go for a hike with my dogs! I've discovered so many great trails in Virginia.Â
Â
If I could only eat one meal for every meal for the rest of my life, it would be?
Nachos!
My favorite place I've ever been is?
My favorite trip every year is to St. Catharines in Ontario, Canada, for the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta. The awesome racing, kind people, and good times can't be beat!
Â
If I could have coffee with anybody in the world, living or historical, he/she would be?
I'd love to meet Megan Rapinoe! Her athletic career and passion for human rights are both incredibly inspiring.Â
Â
The one job in GW Athletics I'd like to do for a day is?
I'd like to be a custodian for a day. Phil and Michelle seem to bring the most joy to our campus every day!
Â
The person I'm most inspired by is?
I'm inspired by Greta Thunberg. We need a world full of people, especially women and non-binary folks who can stand up loudly for what they believe in!
Â
My favorite book, movie, TV show or podcast is?
Book:Â To Kill a MockingbirdÂ
Movie:Â Shawshank RedemptionÂ
TV Show:Â The West Wing
Podcast:Â Pod Save America
My top #OnlyAtGWÂ moment was?
Our last practice this year in March we had fierce racing in front of the monuments. It's a day I'll never forget.
If I could be granted the gift of elite athleticism, I'd like to be able to?Â
Row a pair with our U23 world champion graduate assistant, Sarah Johanek!
