Maria Pareja Named A-10 Co-Player of the Week

Pareja honored for performance in 2-0 week
NEWPORT NEWS, VA. -- Maria Pareja was honored by the Atlantic 10 on Monday after helping GW women's soccer to a pair of wins last week.
Pareja earns A-10 Co-Player of the Week honors after recording a goal in each of GW's victories, extending her scoring streak to four straight games.
Against the Retrievers, the sophomore scored the go-ahead goal, along with assisting on the game-tying goal early in the match. The Fairfax, Va., product also tallied her fifth goal of the season in a 3-1 victory against La Salle to open conference play.
The sophomore paces the team with 11 points (5g, 1a) and has put 15 of her 17 shots on goal this season.
