Despite two first half goals, the George Washington women's soccer team came up short at Rhode Island, 3-2. GW falls to 3-4-3 overall and 0-1-1 in Atlantic 10 play thus far.

HOW IT HAPPENED

24^th Minute – First-year Ella Provost-Heron opened the scoring with her third goal of the season, an unassisted score midway through the first half.\
28^th Minute – GW doubled its lead four minutes later when Sophia Michel registered her team-leading fourth goal of her rookie campaign.
45^th Minute – Rhode Island got on the scoreboard with just two seconds remaining in the first half when Lauren MacDonald tallied an unassisted goal.
65^th Minute – MacDonald leveled the match midway through the second half, using an assist from Courtney Poon for her second goal this season.
77^th Minute – Poon registered the game winner, an unassisted goal and her third this season.

NOTEWORTHY

Rhode Island outshot GW 20-5, including an 11-4 edge in shots on goal.
