Three-year captain earns first preseason honor
A-10 Preseason All-Conference Team
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – George Washington women's soccer redshirt senior defender Megan McCormick has earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The three-year captain has been a fixture on the Colonials' back line throughout her career, helping GW post a league-best 0.77 GAA in her debut season in 2016 and leading the squad to a league-high 10 clean sheets in 2017. The 2017 A-10 Second Team All-Conference member continued her momentum last season, starting all 16 matches in which she saw action and tallying a career-high four points (1g, 2a) on the year.
The Colonials are slated to kick off their season on Thursday, August 22 at 7 p.m. at William & Mary.
