D'Alessandro, Fassnacht Earn ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Honors

Multiple Colonials recognized for the fourth straight season
WASHINGTON -Â GW baseball first baseman Dom D'Alessandro and shortstop Nate Fassnacht were recognized again on Wednesday, earning ABCA/Rawlings All-Region honors.
D'Alessandro repeats as an East All-Region First Team selection, becoming the first player in program history to earn multiple honors on the region's top team. Fassnacht was named to the East All-Region Second Team in his first such honor.
This season marks the fourth straight year with multiple All-Region honorees for the Colonials, who have placed 11 players on the team in the last five years.
Thanks to his first-team selection, D'Alessandro is eligible for All-America status from the organization. The selection is the latest in a line of postseason accomplishments for the Glassboro, N.J., product, having also been named an A-10 All-Conference First Team First Baseman and Second Team DH. He was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 22nd Round of last week's MLB Draft.
Fassnacht has now earned All-Region honors in addition to his accolades as a Collegiate Baseball Third Team All-American, A-10 Player of the Year and First Team A-10 All-Conference pick. He was the fifth-highest draft pick in program history, being selected in the eighth round by the Philadelphia Phillies last week.
