The senior leaves GW as the most decorated golfer in program history
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Logan Lowe's historic career at GW ended on Wednesday afternoon at the University of Louisville Golf Club as he wrapped up play in NCAA Regionals with a T-40 finish.
Â
Needing to finish first among a group of 10 individual qualifiers to advance to the national finals, Lowe came up short to bring his highly decorated collegiate career to a close. The senior shot 2-over par 73 in each of three rounds for a total of 6-over 219.
Â
He leaves GW with a long list of accolades and program records set over the course of his four years in Foggy Bottom.
Â
The California native made a splash from the get-go, equaling the program record when he shot 66 in his first collegiate tournament in 2015. He went on to break the record twice, shooting 65 as a sophomore and 64 as a junior.
Â
Lowe showed steady improvement throughout the course of his GW career while earning all-conference honors all four years. He holds the top three single-season scoring averages in school history, registering a 73.06 mark as a sophomore, 71.17 as a junior and 71.35 as a senior. His 72.22 career average is also a record.
Â
In the spring of 2017 he won for the first time as a collegian and went on to claim four more titles, including a pair of victories as a junior when he was named A-10 Golfer of the Year. The highlight came last month when he shot a 6-under 210 to win the A-10 Championship and earn his automatic berth to NCAA Regionals.
Â
Lowe will graduate cum laude in real estate this weekend before returning home to prepare for his turn professional as a golfer.
