Lowe Headed to NCAA Louisville Regional

The tournament will be held May 13-15 at the University of Louisville Golf Club
Logan Lowe will make his NCAA Men's Golf Championship debut at the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Kentucky, as the GW senior was selected to compete in the Louisville Regional during the NCAA Selection Show on Golf Channel Wednesday night. The 54-hole tournament will be conducted May 13-15.
Â
An automatic qualifier by taking medalist honors at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship, Lowe is among 81 teams and 45 individuals selected to compete at one of six regional championship sites.
Â
In the Louisville Regional he'll need to be the low finisher among 10 individuals to advance to the national championship finals which will be held May 24-27 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Â
A four-time all-conference selection who owns the school records for wins (5), career scoring average (72.20) and single-season scoring average (71.18), Lowe will be the first GW golfer to compete in an NCAA Regional since the Colonials earned an automatic berth as a team after winning the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship.
Â
"Logan has worked tirelessly to earn this opportunity and I couldn't be more excited for him," said head coach Chuck Scheinost. "He is going to leave GW as the most decorated golfer in school history, so competing for an NCAA Championship is a fitting way to cap an incredible collegiate career."
Â
Lowe, who narrowly missed out on an at-large bid to NCAA Regionals last year after a disappointing finish at the A-10 Championship, was able to comfortably watch this year's selection show knowing his ticket was punched.
Â
"Since I came to GW my goal was always to make postseason play," said Lowe. "I got really close last year to getting a regional bid but unfortunately A-10 was the killer that kept me from getting there. It was a great feeling to win conference and not have to worry about where the numbers fall. My game has matured so much since freshman year, not only physically but mentally, and I'm looking forward to this challenge."
Â
Golf Channel will have coverage of the final day of the regional championships on Wednesday, May 15. Coverage will feature updates throughout both days that will be published to Golf Channel Digital and through Golf Channel social media handles, concluding with live news segments announcing the teams and individuals who qualified for the national championship.
