Women’s Tennis to Face Pair of Opponents in North Carolina

Colonials to play Davidson and Elon in their final road swing of the regular season
SERVING FIRST: The George Washington University women's tennis team is set for its final weekend on the road, first traveling to Davidson on Saturday at 10 a.m. before making the trip to Elon for a 1 p.m. matchup on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT: The Buff and Blue posted split results this past weekend, defeating local rival Georgetown 5-2 on Friday before falling to A-10 foe VCU 4-3 on Sunday. Against the Hoyas, GW won five of the six matches in singles play. On Sunday, Senior Sara Grubac and first-year Katarina Marinkovikj notched singles victories for the Buff and Blue.
ABOUT DAVIDSON: The Wildcats are currently 12-9 and went 1-1 last weekend with a 5-2 setback to Massachusetts and 5-2 win over Fordham. Sunday's matchup against the Colonials will be the final competition of their regular season, as they have received a walkover win for April 14 over Dayton. In 2018, GW posted a 5-2 victory over Davidson.
ABOUT ELON: The Phoenix are even at 11-11 and were edged 4-3 by the College of Charleston on Sunday after defeating South Carolina State 5-2. Elon will face GW for their last match before heading to the CAA Championships. The Colonials last faced Elon in the 2014-15 season, when they were dealt a 5-2 loss.
