Women’s Tennis to Host Liberty and Towson

Colonials aim to continue win streak this weekend
SERVING FIRST: The George Washington women's tennis team is set to host a pair of matches at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center this weekend. The Colonials will first welcome Liberty to the District at noon on Friday before hosting Towson on Sunday for an 11 a.m. matchup.
LAST TIME OUT: The women's tennis squad completed a perfect weekend against conference opponents to kick off Atlantic 10 action. The Colonials first topped Fordham, 5-2, on Friday before edging Duquesne, 4-3, the next day.
A-10 HONORS: GW claimed two A-10 Weekly honors, with Sara Grubac earning Co-Player of the Week while Katarina Marinkovikj was named Rookie of the Week. Partnering up in doubles play, the pair helped the Colonials secure the early point in both matches as they took down Fordham's Arina Taluyenko and Nicole Li, 7-5, on Friday and then Duquesne's Margo Pessy and Aishwarya Kona, 6-2, the next day. In singles play, the duo finished the weekend without dropping a set.
ABOUT LIBERTY: The Flames sit at 4-5 on the season and are coming off a 5-2 victory at James Madison over the weekend.
ABOUT TOWSON: The Tigers come in with a 2-6 record, with their two wins coming over La Salle (4-0) and Hofstra (5-2). Towson has gone head-to-head with two other A-10 opponents so far this season, falling to Duquesne (4-3) and Richmond (6-1).
