Colonials edge Minutewomen, 4-3
AMHERST, Mass. -- In its first of two A-10 road matches this weekend, the George Washington women's tennis team topped Massachusetts, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonials earned the early advantage in doubles play, securing the crucial point with victories from Maria Siopacha and Melis Bayraktaroglu at #1 (7-5) and Sara Grubac and Katarina Marinkovikj at #2 (6-3).
In singles action it was neck-and-neck, with each squad claiming three wins. Siopacha, Marinkovikj, and Victoria Kogan all came out on top for the Colonials, winning their respective matches at #1, #4, and #6 to secure the Buff and Blue victory.
