Nelson Sets School Record at Penn Challenge

Colonials set six PRs in first full outdoor event of season
PHILADELPHIA - Junior Jared Nelson highlighted GW track & field's first full outdoor event of the season, setting a new school record in the triple jump at the Penn Challenge Saturday.
Nelson previously held the record with a distance of 12.73m, but blew past that by over a foot, setting the new mark at 13.05m, finishing fifth overall in the event.
Junior Suzanne Dannheim claimed victory in her debut at the women's 3000m, leading three Colonials among the top eight in the competition. Dannheim finished in a time of 10:02.55 and was followed by senior Madison Yerke in seventh with a PR time of 10:13.73. Sophomore Margaret Coogan finished eighth in 10:15.47.
Senior Brigid Prial (10:31.23, 15th) and Kelli Stetson (10:39.06, 23rd) also set PRs in the 3000m competition.
On the men's side, junior Evan Garry set a PR in 53.35 in the men's 400m and graduate student Carter Day posted the top finish of the day, placing fourth in the 1500m with a time of 4:00.39. Seniors Andrew Weber (8:49.39) and Connor James (8:50.28) also obliterated their previous PRs with their times in the 3000m.
Women's 100m
