Colonials sweep A-10 offensive awards for the third straight week
WASHINGTON -Â GW baseball nabbed both of the Atlantic 10's weekly offensive awards for the third straight week on Monday with junior Nate Fassnacht earning his third straight Player of the Week honor and first-year Noah Levin being named the Rookie of the Week.
Fassnacht, who ranks among the top 20 in the NCAA in six different offensive categories, hit .550 in GW's 4-1 week, posting a ridiculous 1.790 OPS. The junior extended his hitting streak to 13 games, tied for the longest on the team this year, and accrued four multi-hit and four multi-run games in the process.
In the five games, Fassnacht was 11-for-20 (.550) with two doubles, two triples, two home runs, 12 runs scored and seven RBI. He also walked four times and stole a base. He started his week with three extra-base hits against Towson, driving in two and scoring two. He then scored four runs and launched his first homer of the year on Wednesday against Maryland Eastern Shore.
