
Women’s Tennis Tops Howard in Home Opener

Colonials defeat Bison, 6-1, at SETLC
WASHINGTON – The George Washington women's tennis team opened its home slate in dominant fashion on Friday afternoon, downing local foe Howard, 6-1, at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center (SETLC).
The Colonials earned the early doubles point with the pairs of Maria Siopacha and Melis Bayraktaroglu and Sara Grubac and Katarina Mainkovikj winning both matches, 6-1.
In singles action, it was all GW. Siopacha, Bayraktaroglu, and Grubac, along with newcomers Marinkovikj and Xenia de Luna, all posted victories in their matches. Howard's one point came at the No. 6 spot, which it won by default.
