Women's Distance Highlights Indoor Track's Performance at Patriot Games

Yerke wins mile as Colonials post nine top-10 finishes overall
FAIRFAX, Va. - Personal record times for the top finisher in three women's distance races set the tone for a strong weekend at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason for GW indoor track.
On Friday night, seniors Brigid Prial and Kelli Stetson put forth phenomenal efforts in the women's 5k, setting new PR's by 35 and 24 seconds, respectively. The strong performances continued in the first event women's event Saturday with senior Madison Yerke and junior Suzanne Dannheim crossing the line 1-2 in the women's mile. Sophomore Margaret Coogan finished fourth while setting a new PR in the distance.
Later in the day, senior Brittany Wilkinson PR'd while finishing fourth overall in the 1000m. To wrap up the women's side, sophomore Olivia Horgan shaved over 10 seconds off her previous best en route to a 10th place finish at the 3000m.
On the men's side, senior Aiden Kolenik was the top finisher, placing sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:00.93. First-year Isaiah Robyne and senior Daniel Robinson each PR'd in the mile, finishing in 11th and 12th, respectively.
Junior Evan Garry PR'd as well, finishing eighth in the 500m with a time of 1:09.35.
The Colonials are off from competition next weekend before splitting up and competing in both the VMI Winter Relays and Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invite the weekend of Feb. 8-9.
Women's 5000m
