Dannheim's Victory, Multiple PRs Showcase Indoor Track's Day at VMI

Colonials set 11 PRs in total across eight events
LEXINGTON, Va. - Junior Suzanne Dannheim's title in the 3000m was the highlight of a strong performance for GW indoor track at the VMI Winter Relays on Saturday afternoon.
Dannheim crushed her previous PR by more than 29 seconds, finishing in a time of 9:53.87 that was just .75 seconds off the school-record time. GW put four in the top 10 of the event with seniors Halley Brown in fourth, Brigid Prial in seventh and Kelli Stetson in 10th. Prial and Stetson both also set PRs.
Sophomore Olivia Horgan bested her previous PR in the mile with a time of 5:22.44, placing 17th overall.
The men's team was led by the performance of junior Evan Garry, who set a pair of PRs in the 400m and 500m. His 500m time of 1:08.75 was just .57 seconds off the school record.
All five GW harriers who competed in the mile and 3000m set PRs, as well. In the mile, junior Paul Housey claimed top bill by finishing 10th and shaving 10 seconds off his PR with a time of 4:26.03. Sophomore Ryan Doorhy finished 14th and beat his PR by four seconds, while first-year Isaiah Robyne placed 17th and was three seconds better than his previous best.
Seniors Connor James and Andrew Weber also impressed at the 3000m, finishing fifth and eighth, respectively. James clipped 27 seconds off his previous PR with a time of 8:41.22, while Weber erased seven seconds, finishing in 8:42.91.
