Cross Country Back in Action at Paul Short Run

45th annual event boasts participation from nearly 450 schools
GW men's and women's cross country are back on the course on Saturday, taking part in the historic Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. The 45th running of the event features three separate collegiate races on both sides, separated by tiers. Results will be available via PaulShortXCRun.com
RACE FORMAT: The race, hosted by Lehigh, will be held on the Goodman Campus Cross Country course with over 6,000 racers expected to compete during the day. GW's women's team will be split into two races, competing in the Open 6k race at 10:15 a.m. and the Gold 6k race at 11:45 a.m. The men's Brown 8k race will follow at approximately 12:15 p.m. Last year, GW men's team came in 2nd of 18 teams, headlined by now assistant coach Matt Lange's second place individual finish. The women finished second as well behind Madison Yerke's second place individual finish.

IN THE RANKINGS: GW's men's side continues to be ranked in the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic poll, coming in at No. 15 this week. The Colonials have been a part of each poll and are joined by fellow A-10 members Saint Joseph's (No. 9) and La Salle (No. 13).
LAST TIME OUT: Despite a last-minute change in schedule, GW posted a strong performance at the Army Open two weeks ago with the women's team finishing second and the men's team placing third. The women's team has finished second at both races thus far with junior Suzanne Dannheim leading the way in both competitions. Sophomore Jackson Cronin paced the men's team by finishing ninth overall as 16 of GW's 18 competitors set personal records in their respective distances.
