Cross Country Schedule Altered Due to Hurricane Florence

GW will now compete at the Army Open on Friday
WASHINGTON - Due to the expected impact of Hurricane Florence, GW cross country's scheduled meet in Raleigh, N.C. has been cancelled. Instead, the Colonials will take part in the Army Open on Friday in Wappingers Falls, N.Y.
RACE FORMAT: The race will be held at Bowdoin Park, just north of West Point along the Hudson River. The Army Open has been held every year since 2007 (except for 2015 and 2016) and moved to its current location last year. The women will open the competition with a 6k race at 10 a.m. on Friday, followed by the men's 8k competition at approximately 10:40 a.m.
IN THE RANKINGS: The men's team is currently ranked No. 15 in the Mid-Atlantic region in the newest USTFCCCA regional polls. GW is the second-higest rated A-10 team, trailing only Saint Joseph's (No. 11).
THE COMPETITION: Along with the hosts, Army West Point, GW will square off against Marist, Manhattan, Temple, and fellow A-10 foe St. Bonaventure. On the women's side, Temple is ranked 10th in the Mid-Atlantic region and Marist is 11th in the Northeast region. Temple is the highest-rated team on the men's side, ranking 7th in the Mid-Atlantic region while Army West Point is 8th in the Northeast.
