Eight Gymnasts Named WCGA Scholastic All-America

Colonials honored for academic excellence
WASHINGTON – Eight George Washington gymnasts have been named 2018 Scholastic All-Americans by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA), the organization announced this week.
Individuals must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 to earn Scholastic All-America honors.
Amongst GW's eight honorees were five repeat recipients. Recent graduates Cami Drouin-Allaire (Biology), Liz Pfeiler (Biology), Jillian Winstanley (Finance), and Sara Mermelstein (Biology) were all honored for the fourth consecutive year for outstanding academic achievement while rising fifth-year Alex Zois (Exercise Science) earned her second WCGA Scholastic All-America honor.
They were joined by first time honorees Anna Warhol (Biomedical Engineering), Katya Karpova (Biomedical Engineering), and Rachel Kaplan (Psychology).
As a team, the Colonials ranked 53rd overall in the nation with a team cumulative GPA of 3.3844 and had the fourth most honorees amongst teams in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL).
All eight student-athletes were also honored on the All-EAGL Scholastic Team in the spring.
