WASHINGTON -- Rising senior Logan Lowe and recent graduate Christian Cichan have named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars, while the Colonials received a team academic award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for their collective performance in the classroom.
Â
Lowe and Cichan are among 265 Division I golfers to earn All-America Scholar status after impressive years on and off the golf course. A real estate major, Lowe set the school record with a 71.71 scoring average en route to Atlantic 10 Player of the Year honors, while Cichan was second on the team with a 74.97 scoring average while competing in all 11 events for the Colonials. Cichan, a two-time honoree, completed his degree in business administration in May.
Â
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Â
Meanwhile, the Colonials were named an All-Academic Team by the GCAA for maintaining a GPA above 3.0.
