After rewriting the program record book this season, George Washington swimming and diving prepared the record board at Smith Center Pool on Thursday for its yearly overhaul.
Per annual tradition, the Colonials who made history pulled down the records that they broke to get the record board ready to add the new marks this summer.
Eighteen different student-athletes had a hand in record-breaking performances during the 2017-2018 season. The women broke 14 records in all, including all five relay marks, while the men dropped 12 record with nine of them swimming and three diving. (Check out the updated women's record book here.)
The men claimed their second straight Atlantic 10 Championship and followed up with a runner-up performance at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship. Gustav Hokfelt advanced to his first NCAA Championship, as well.
The women continued their climb up the A-10 standings with a third-place finish at the conference meet and then placed eighth out of 31 squads at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship.
