NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Junior golfer Logan Lowe has added another accolade to his standout junior season as the Atlantic 10 named him to the league's All-Academic team on Thursday.
Lowe, who was named the A-10 Player of the Year at the conclusion of the conference tournament in April, is majoring in real estate and holds a 3.529 GPA. The native of Grass Valley, California, set the school's single-season record with a scoring average of 71.71 across eight tournaments last season.
Lowe collected two wins, first at the Camden Collegiate Invitational in October, when he shot a final round 68 to overcome a three-shot deficit, and then at the Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay in April. In that tournament, he forced a playoff with a birdie on his 54th and final hole, then captured medalist honors by winning the first playoff hole.
Of his eight stroke-play tournament starts, Lowe finished under par in six and had four top-10 finishes. Thirteen of his 24 rounds player were at or below par including a school record, 8-under 64 at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate. His three-round, 206 total in the win at South Carolina is also a school record.
He's one of five student-athletes named to the team, joining Jack Lang and Nathan Tenpas of Davidson, and Eric Edwards and Brock Kovach of George Mason.
