NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- After capturing his third collegiate victory at the Redhawk Invitational, Logan Lowe has been selected as the Atlantic 10 Co-Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday.
Lowe shot a 5-under par 208 at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Park, Washington, including a 4-under 67 in the final round, and won in dramatic fashion by birdieing the first hole of a playoff to defeat Tim Wilding of San Francisco.
A Grass Valley, California, native, Lowe entered the final round one shot off the lead at one-under par and turned in a flawless round, with 14 pars and four birdies, including one on his final hole of the day to get into the playoff. Lowe, Widing and Felix Mory of CSU-Northridge (-2) were the only players to finish the tournament under par at a course that has hosted the U.S. Open and is well-known for its difficulty.
Lowe, who has been named Golfer of the Week three times in his career, is the second straight Colonial to be honored with an A-10 weekly award. Last week, Clifford Thompson was named Co-Rookie of the Week.
