Women's Tennis Advances to A-10 Semifinal

The Colonials will now face the winner of Friday's quarterfinal matchup between No. 3 Davidson/No. 6 Massachusetts on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
The Buff and Blue grabbed an exciting doubles point to start the day as the top duo of Maria Siopacha and Melis Bayraktaroglu claimed a 6-2 victory. Dayton won the second flight to even the slate, but Sara Grubac and Julia Herlogsson battled at the No. 3 position and pulled through with a 6-1 triumph to give GW an early 1-0 lead.
In solo action, Bayraktaroglu continued her momentum and blanked her opponent (6-0, 6-0) at No. 2 before Marie-Louise Decamps helped increase the GW lead to 3-0 with her win over Jackie Kawamoto (6-2, 6-2) at No. 4. Diana Kussainova then clinched the victory with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at the No. 6 over Natalie Allen.
